Hello! Welcome to CALMAstore!

I am Nena M., a Portuguese sculptor + a few invited artists who occasionally work together. I design and manufacture the models. The invited artists intervene on some of them, at any time of the process they want to. They’re given all the credits in those pieces’ descriptions, so you’ll get know all of us.

My headquarters are in Lisbon, Portugal, and I ship worldwide. Your package travels in Registered Mail by the Portuguese mail services (CTT), with a tracking code so you’ll be able to follow it.

My pieces are made by hand, in their own time, and purposely to you. Some models may be reproduced but note that their handmade nature makes it impossible for them to be exactly like the one in the picture. Yours is unique. Colors may alter also, due to screen characteristics. I use conscious materials and techniques.

I read my MESSAGES and emails every morning, on working days. If you convo me during the weekend and don’t get a response on Saturday or Sunday, rest assured that I’ll answer you back on Monday morning.

I accept CUSTOM ORDERS from almost every model. Just fill in the dropdown menu and send me a message with all your requirements. Be sure to mention materials, sizes, colors and customizations such as engravings or special embroideries in the Message to Seller box. Also inform me if it is a gift and if you want it sent directly to the gifted person's address and if you want to add a written note to them. Be as accurate as possible to maximize my processing time. If you systematically send me convos with different ideas, it is confusing for me, I take more time to finish your order and it delays delivery. I appreciate your understanding.

Payment

I accept payments via Paypal. You don't need to have an account in order to pay. Non account holders can pay with their credit card using PayPal as a safe payment method. Please pay promptly or convo me if you need help with payment.

:: Custom orders are paid fully in advance; I begin them after receiving payment.

:: If you live in Portugal, perhaps it’s easier to do a money transfer. Please contact me so I’ll give you the info for the transfer. I ask you to send me an email with the proof of transfer and I'll begin your order after receiving payment.

:: Your payment must be made within 2 days of the order. Otherwise, I will cancel and relist the piece. I contact the buyer before proceeding with any cancellation.

Shipping

Your piece will arrive in a wrap designed by me. If it is a gift, please inform me on Message to Seller Box so I can add extra wrap. I am also glad to send it directly to the gifted person and add a written note, if you prefer.

All shipping is made in Registered Mail by the Portuguese mail services (CTT), with a tracking code so you’ll be able to follow it. Domestic and European orders take approximately 1-2 weeks, and up to 3-4 weeks in the rest of the world. In more hectic times like Christmas, post services can have delays so please place your order with time.

:: If you prefer another shipping method or want to insure your package, please convo me. I'm glad to do that for you. Note that shipping prices may differ; I’ll inform you of everything.

I ship within 2 days of receiving payment. Weekend orders ship on Monday. In the case of custom orders, I take a picture of the finished item for your approval, then ship it and inform you.

:: Some countries ask for custom duties - get informed about your country's policy on this when you purchase something for it is your sole responsibility as buyer.

:: IS BUYING ON ETSY SAFE? Yes, it is. I opened my shop on Etsy exactly because it is a safe place to buy and sell. Etsy is the most well-known online platform for handmade products, worldwide. We are 30 million sellers by now, and counting monthly. There are people who, when searching for something handmade, don’t Google it, they Etsy it! Besides, we use Paypal as a secure way of payment and you can use it even if you don’t have an account. If something goes wrong, both client and seller are protected and know Etsy and Paypal have their back. It’s secure, it’s vast and most of all…it’s easy and fast to use. In the comfort of your home, you buy a gift to you or someone you love, and then just wait to receive it. In most cases you’ll be surprised because Etsy sellers go the extra mile to please you. You’ll receive a real gift shower from the artist you hired. We share the love.

:: HOW DO I LET YOU KNOW MY SIZE? Let me know size, materials and anything else you feel is important about your order, using the dropdown menu and the Notes to Seller Box of checkout. You should put everything you want on your piece, here. Include if it is a gift, if you want it sent to the gifted person directly or not and if you want to include a written note. Alterations afterwards are confusing, I may not be able to make them in time and shipping will be delayed. If you don’t specify the size of a piece, I’ll make one in the same size as the picture of the listing you purchased.

:: WHAT IS YOUR PROCESSING TIME? After receiving the order I’ll send you information on your piece. Each piece is different, so I try to include that information on the item’s description. A few things may delay my processing time, though:
:: Not paying promptly.
:: Changing sizes after I’ve begun a different sized piece.
:: Changing the details of the piece after I’ve begun it.
:: Requesting materials for your piece that I don’t keep in stock.
:: Not giving all the specifics on your piece in the notes to seller of checkout box.

Note that if you wait for one week to make changes to your order, I may not be able to comply with the original delivery date. If you have a deadline, please let me know in the notes to seller box.

:: HOW DO I CARE FOR YOUR WOOLEN PIECES? My woolen pieces are very easy to care for at home. In most cases they are hand washed with a gentle solution in cold/damp water to maintain the characteristics of the fibers. Then wrap them in a towel, squeeze gently and dry horizontally with indirect sunlight. If these instructions change for any piece, I’ll inform you of it. Please don’t mix different pieces while washing, for they may stain each other in the washing solution.

:: DO YOU COSTUMIZE PIECES OR MAKE THEM IN OTHER MATERIALS? Yes I do. I’ll try everything in our reach to make exactly what you’re looking for. Please convo me and explain what you want, in detail.

:: HOW DO I CONTACT YOU? Through Etsy conversations or email, please. However, from the moment you place your order, it’s best to contact me only through Etsy, so I see any new information you send me, on a timely manner. It is very confusing to use both at the same time when discussing the same order.

:: I ORDERED A PIECE AND I LOVE IT BUT PREFER ANOTHER SIZE. CAN YOU RESIZE IT? If you would have put that question while I was making it, I could resize it. However, I cannot resize it just because you changed your mind about it after receiving the order. This goes for size or any other specific details. I can add details most of the times, though. If that’s the case, please convo me and I’ll be glad to discuss it.

:: CAN WE GO SEE YOUR STUDIO? For now I'm not receiving visitors in Calma’s studio but who knows, in the future… However, you may be able to see some of our guest artist’s studios, perhaps. Contact me (or them) and I’ll be glad to make it happen.

:: CAN WE MEET IN PERSON TO DISCUSS A PIECE OR RECEIVE IT? If you are in Lisbon, it’s possible to hand deliver your order or even to discuss a custom piece. It’s something I’ve done before and it’s been very special to meet my clients in person. Contact me and we’ll see what the best time would be!

:: CAN I PAY THROUGH MONEY TRANSFER? If you live in Portugal, perhaps it’s easier to do a money transfer. Please contact me so I’ll give you the info for the transfer. I ask you to send me an email with the proof of transfer and will begin your order after receiving payment.

:: I DECIDED TO CANCEL MY ORDER.
According to the European law you may cancel an order within 14 days, starting from the day you receive the product. I remind you that shipping costs of the return are your responsability.
